Happy Mother’s Day!

Hi everyone!  A Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all of you!  Today’s card is my Mother’s Day card for this year – I’m so happy with how it turned out.  This is the first time I’ve used the Lattice die and I just love it.  It looks beautiful with a DSP backdrop, don’t you think!  To glam it up, I added a few pearls :).  This card is inspired by this week’s Paper Players theme – Birds, Bees, Flowers and Trees!

The flower probably looks familiar – one of my favorite techniques of spritzing with Stampin’ Mist and scrunching up the flowers while they’re still wet – then letting dry.  They look great and smell even better!  The flower pieces are held together using hemp twine and a Big Designer Button :).  I assembled my cards while watching American Idol and had some help from one of my cats, Tucker.  He was particularly enamored with the hemp twine – haha!

I just want to wish all of my followers a very happy Mother’s Day!  It’s a bittersweet day for me having lost my mom over 13 years ago.  I’ll leave you with a wonderful photo of my mom that I came across today.  Enjoy!

  1. Julie, this is lovely! The lattice looks wonderful on the DSP and your flower is gorgeous! What a fantastic pic of your Mom too. My thoughts go out to you on Mother's Day–I have the same feelings about Father's Day. ((big hugs))

  2. Very pretty, Julie! I love the white lattice against the Vintage Springtime DSP. The "pop" of color created by the flower is perfect! Thanks for playing with The Paper Players!
