I have news to share with you in today's post!! My husband Bryan and I are expecting our first baby, due February 16th, 2013 :). We waited until we reached the 2nd trimester before we told our families, and, of course, I had to do something creative to share the news with them. Since Baby DiMatteo is due February 16th, I decided to go with a Valentine's Day theme to throw them off a little ;).
First, I made a 3" x 3" pizza box. Here's a great tutorial for making your own pizza box. It's great for giving gifts!
I do not have a face to see,
Or put inside a frame.
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss.
I don’t yet have a name.
You can’t yet hold my tiny hands,
Nor whisper in my ear.
It’s still too soon to sing a song,
Or cuddle me so near.
But all will change come February 16th;
When my parents say I’m due.
I am your new grandson or granddaughter;
And I can’t wait to meet you!
All I ask between now and then
Is your patience while I grow.
I promise I’ll be worth the wait;
Because of all the love we’ll know!
So what I have to give you now,
Is a wish to you from me.
I cannot wait to be a part
Of this wonderful family!
Or put inside a frame.

And finally, I've started getting into embroidery with my new embroidery machine, so I made this adorable onesie using a pattern I found online for a pregnancy announcement.
We couldn't be more excited! I'm halfway through the pregnancy and we're having a girl!!! She's going to be my little papercrafting helper - I just know it. Needless to say, I've been neglecting my blog a little bit, but I'm still here and I've got more cards to share with you over the next week or so :).
Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you have any questions!

YYYYAAAAAAYYYYY! How exciting, and what a sweet way to announce it! I am so happy for you!
Yahoo! Congratulations Julie! :)
Love this idea!!!! Congrats on your new addition to your family. My best friends, after 6 years of infertility, treatments, hope and prayer are finally pregnant. Due in Oct 2013 and couldn't be happier! Both Rachel and I love crafting and love new ideas. I am actually going to use that poem, put a little different take on it and send it to them for Valentine's Day! Thank you!!!
I loved this. My youngest daughter is due to have her 1st child in July. My 11th grandchild and am just as excited as I was on my first. I'm going to borrow your poem with a little tweak for our new parents-to-be. Thank you for sharing.
Can I just say that the moment I saw this, I knew that *if* I ever was able to have kids (between infertility issues and whatnot)that I wanted to present both sets of brand new first time grandparents with this poem....well, I am now 5 weeks pregnant and cannot wait until my first dr's visit so that I can give these to them! I am beyond excited and think this poem is the sweetest thing I have ever seen!
