One-Layer Card

Today's card is inspired by this card by Dawn Olchefske.  I didn't have a lot of time available to make a card, so I needed something quick!

I loved Dawn's card at first sight - the border around the card is the perfect touch!  I used my favorite flower image from the Raining Flowers stamp set and chose to use some of our new In Colors - Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade.  To create the border, I cut a piece of card stock to 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" and slowly traced around it with a Stampin' Write® Marker.  To soften the border and the sentiment, I used Basic Gray instead of Basic Black.  I also added a couple of spritzes of Frost White Shimmer Mist to pretty it up even more.  What do you think?

BOO!

Today's card uses this week's sketch at The Paper Players - it's been awhile since I participated in their weekly challenges and I've missed them!

I love these three colors for a Halloween card - Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive.  'BOO' is heat embossed using Black Stampin' Emboss® powder and I framed the letters using the Doily Triple Layer Punch.  For the sweet scallop border around the Old Olive piece, I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.  I hope you enjoy today's card!  Any questions, just let me know!

Sending Love and Sympathy

I CASE'd today's card from Karin Menghini.  Her card caught my eye as I was browsing for inspiration - it is gorgeous!  She created her card with our Mocha Morning DSP, but I don't have it, so I had to improvise :).  Instead, I used one of the stamps from Elements of Style and heat embossed the background with Black Stampin' Emboss® Powder.  The sentiment is also heat embossed and framed with one of our awesome Designer Frames embossing folders.

I hope you like today's card!  A special thanks to Karin Menghini for her beautiful design!

Flower Bouquet Birthday

Today's card showcases flowers I made from the Fancy Flower Punch, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, and the 5-Petal Flower Punch.  You can find my video tutorial here that shows you how to make them with the Fancy Flower Punch.  It also works with other punches and I love how they turned out!

What do you think?  The flowers are gorgeous in person and they're really fun to make!  I jazzed them up with some shimmer mist I created with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and alcohol.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Today's card is a sweet birthday card that I made awhile ago using the Create a Cupcake stamp set and the coordinating Build a Cupcake punch!

The flower on the cupcake was created with 6 punch-outs from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack.  I sponged the edges of each punch-out with Soft Suede and used the non-sharp end of my paper piercer to bend the edges up of each punch-out to give the flower some dimension.  Through the center of the flower is a silver brad.

I love the music notes wheel and I think it's perfect for a birthday card!  It's like I'm singing to the recipient :) - although I am positive those notes, when played, aren't the happy birthday song - hee hee!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I've been on a roll with blog posts lately - hope you're enjoying my creations!

Birthday Balloons

Today's card is a birthday card for my brother-in-law, Logan!  It's a clean and simple masculine card where I've used our Simply Scored to add texture to the card base.  Check it out:

I created the balloons using the Small Oval Punch and Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper.  I attached Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine to them to make balloon strings :).  And the finishing touch is the Perfectly Penned sentiment - one of my favorites!  I hope he likes it - it's hard to make a card for a 15-year-old guy, isn't it?  Thanks for stopping by!

Happiness Always

One of my biggest fans is my Dad :).  He asked me to make a card for him to give to dear friends of our family's daughter for her wedding.  So, I sat down to come up with a 'wow' card.  I wanted to make something that was elegant and breathtaking and here's what I came up with:

A picture can't do this card justice, but it's simple, elegant, and sparkly!  Can you spot a new sneak peek on the card?  It's Silver Glimmer Paper and it's gorgeous and mesmerizing in person!  This will be available in the Holiday Mini Catalog on September 1.  I punched it out using the Lace Ribbon Border Punch to layer underneath a Whisper White 5/8" Satin Ribbon knot.  The rose is made using the Owl Builder Punch - you can find a video tutorial on how to make the rose here.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Hello, Doily!

I love this new background stamp, Hello, Doily!.  Today's card features this stamp set - I embossed it using White Stampin' Emboss® Powder.  I used one of our new embossing folders, Designer Frames, to highlight the sentiment from Friendly Phrases.  Once that all came together, it needed one more thing (don't they always?!?), so I added a bow to the center of the doily.  Instead of a knot, I used a Glimmer Brad to hold the bow together.  Isn't that sweet?  Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Anniversary!

Today, Bryan and I celebrate our 4th anniversary!  We are celebrating in Napa Valley as this is posting :).  The card I made for Bryan uses our wedding colors of pink and brown - or in Stampin' Up! terms, Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip!  I picked one of my favorite wedding photos of us to showcase on the card.  I love the new Pursuit of Happiness stamp set - and the stamp I chose I really loved for my anniversary card to Bryan - to pause and just be happy.  Have a great day!

Birthday Monsters

Today's card is a simple card for my youngest cousin, Brettie :).  And the first time I've used the Make a Monster stamp set!  What a fun set for a boy card!  Same technique today as I used in yesterday's card - markers and blender pens to give a watercolor effect.  What do you think?  Have a great day today!

For Baby

Today's card uses the Easy Events stamp set.  This set is great for watercoloring, using blender pens, or simply coloring in with your markers because of the clean lines.  Very relaxing techniques, if you ask me!  For this card, I used my markers first and then a blender pen to give the look of watercoloring, but much easier than watercoloring in my opinion!

This is a very simple baby card - I wanted to showcase the image and sentiment, but it needed a little something more.  So, I used the ducky image from the Baby Bundle stamp set to create a background pattern.  I used my VersaMark® pad to create a "watermark" effect with the ducky :).  A sweet card for a dear friend of mine who just had a baby girl.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Birthday Lollies

Today's card showcases our new Simply Scored Scoring Tool!  I think this is the most excited I have ever been about a new Stampin' Up! product!  I personally think this new scoring tool that Stampin' Up! will be offering in the Holiday Mini Catalog (available September 1) is THE BEST SCORING TOOL!  I have owned others, and this one is by far the best one!  It has score marks every 1/8" inch, a metal stylus (so it won't wear down), markers so you can mark measurements you use a lot, and a storage compartment (for a bone folder, extra stylus, extra markers, or perhaps lipstick or chocolate?).  It also has rubber pads on the bottom so the tool stays in place when you use it.  I could go on and on... hee hee!  It's a must have item for any papercrafter!

Ok, enough about that - let's get to the card!  I created 3 paper lollies (love that term!) using our Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series paper.  Each lolly is made with a 12" strip of DSP, but I varied the widths of the pieces to make different sizes (1-1/2", 1", and 3/4").  I promise I will make a video of how to make these, but it will have to wait until the Simply Scored is available on September 1 - I can't show it to you until then!

And I've used 2 of my favorite new stamp sets on this card - Hello, Doily and Perfectly Penned.  Simply wonderful!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Masculine One-Layer Birthday Card

Today's card is a one-layer masculine card using The Open Sea stamp set.  I was inspired by a swap card that I received from LeAnne Pugliese (posted here yesterday) - what an impact a one-layer card can make!  For some added dimension, I embossed the ship and sentiment with Black Stampin' Emboss® Powder.  I also used Clear Block C as one of my "stamps".  What do you think?  Hope you're having a great Sunday!

Convention Swap Cards

Today's post is for your viewing pleasure and inspiration!  Here are just some of the cards I received from swapping with my fellow demonstrators at Convention!  There are a couple of cards I received with no names on the back, so I'm not sure who created them.  Enjoy!!!
