In today's video tutorial, I will walk you through how to make these beautiful paper bows using Designer Series Paper!

BACK

All you need is your Crop-A-Dile, a 5/8" Jumbo Brad, SNAIL Adhesive, and a 6" x 12" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Cut the following strips from your 6" x 12" piece of DSP (in this order):

  • 8 - 1" x 6"
  • 1 - 1" x 4" (rotate your paper 90 degrees before cutting this piece)
  • 4 - 1" x 5" (rotate your paper 90 degrees again before cutting these pieces)
Now you're ready to make your very own paper bow!  Grab your tools, paper strips, and some popcorn and enjoy the video!  As always, please let me know if you have any questions!

DSP Kusudama Ball - Video Tutorial

Hi, my name is Julie, and I am a Designer Series Paper Hoarder ;).  Wondering what to do with all of your retired DSP???  Well, look no further!  My inspiration comes from this photo from Convention 2011:

I searched and searched and searched for tutorials on how to make this and finally found one.  I recreated it with Springtime Vintage DSP and I can't wait to hang this beauty in my stamp room!

So... do you want to learn how to make one for yourself???  Here's my video tutorial!  Please forgive the cutoff at the end - I need a larger memory card for my camera - oops!  If you have ANY questions - please let me know!  And, if you decide to try this, let me know so I can see your beautiful creation!

Convention Bag Tags

Hi there!  I'm sharing the Convention bag tags I made for my upline, Tina, my sideline, Soraiya, and Soraiya's sister, Safina!  We are having a blast at Convention!  The energy here is indescribable and I have gotten so many wonderful ideas!  Not to mention meeting some wonderful new people.  Our group of 4 has grown over the last few days and we now have a wonderful crew we've been spending time with.  So, a shout out to my new friends - Pat, Sam, Kristina, Gilda, and Henriette - I'm so glad we've met each other and I have truly enjoyed spending time with each of you these last few days.  I can't wait to see you again next year at Convention 2012!!!

Ok... Wait until you see the new Holiday Mini!!!  OMG!  It is simply amazing.  What I am most excited about is one of our new products - the Simply Scored!  YES.  We now have an exclusive scoring board and it is to die for.  I can't wait to get my little hands on it in just a few weeks!

If you have any questions about the bag tag, just let me know!  I think I will create my first video showing you how to make the 3-D flower :).  It's so easy!  I hope you all had a great week!  I will post more details and Convention photos some time next week once I get back home.  Have a wonderful weekend!

2011 Convention Swap

Hi stampers!  I'm in Salt Lake City as we speak at my first 2011 Stampin' Up! Convention!  What an amazing experience it has been so far.  I've already run into three of my favorite bloggers - Cindy Beach, LeAnne Pugliese, and Lynn Pratt and I've met some new friends too!

The card I'm sharing with you today is my Convention swap card.  I made 100 of these for general swapping.  Convention doesn't officially start until tomorrow morning, but I've already swapped half of them!  When I return home, I'll share some of the cards I received.  I hope you are having a great week!

Happy Graduation!

Today's card is a graduation card for my cousin, Becky, who just graduated from Elmira!  I CASEd this card from the latest CardMaker magazine issue.  I loved the simple design of the card and how the Designer Series Paper peeks through the star punchouts.  This was a quick and easy card to make and could be transformed to use for any occasion!

So far so good on my heart monitor results!  We're just going to keep our eye on my irregular heartbeats.  I'm scheduled for another echo after I return from Convention.

Speaking of Convention - I CAN'T WAIT!!!  I am working diligently on my 100 cards for general swapping - and I am almost finished!  Next week will be a quiet week at The Paper Pixie while I'm at Convention, but I will be sure to share with you some of the cards I receive from swapping once I return!  Hope you are all having a great week!

Thinking of You CASE - Masculine

Today's card is a CASE from the super-talented Mary Fish!  Check out her original card here.  The design is exactly the same with the exception of the sentiment.  I needed a get well / thinking of you card for my friend, Gary, who survived a fall from Mt. McKinley (Denali Pass).  He's one of two survivors - the other two on his climbing team did not survive.  I am so grateful he's alive and my heart goes out to the families and friends of those who didn't survive.

I hope all of you are enjoying the holiday weekend!  Mine started off with wearing a cardiac Holter monitor for the first 24 hours :).  As some of you know, I was born with an Atrial Septal Defect that I had repaired in 1996.  Recently I've been experiencing some irregular heart beats, so we'll see what the results are from the monitor - I'll keep you all posted!  I've also been busy, busy creating 100 cards for Convention for general swapping.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Happy 4th!  Back to my 100 cards...

Happy Birthday - Masculine Pendant Park

Today's card is a clean and simple masculine card using the Pendant Park stamp set and a sentiment from Best Dad Ever.  I love the tree from the Pendant Park set - it would be beautiful embossed too.

I wanted to add a little interest to the card, so I stamped my sentiment with craft ink onto our twill tape.  Then I folded the ends a little and held the folds in place using the Vintage Trinkets brads.  And finally, I grabbed a lose fiber and just started pulling to fray the ends.  I will say that one end frays MUCH easier than the other end - it must be the way the twill tape is woven.  Hope you like today's card and thanks for stopping by!
