Dahlia Paper Medallion

Isn't this Dahlia beautiful???  I just love these pretty tea bag folds and our Designer Series Paper is just perfect for it!  I don't know about you, but I have so much DSP and don't use it often enough - this is a perfect use for it.  It adds lots of interest to a card.

For today's card I used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch again and punched out 8 circles for the medallion.  Here's a link to the tutorial for the Dahlia Fold.  I also used another circle punch-out to adhere the 8 folded pieces to - makes it easy to add to the card front as well as affix a brad to the center.

It was looking very, Very Vanilla, so I sponged the card using Always Artichoke.  The pearls were a last-minute add-in.

You should try this paper folding technique - get your DSP, a circle punch, and your bone folder and fold away!

Zig-Zag Paper Medallion

Today's card features a paper medallion created using a tea bag folding technique called the zig-zag fold.  Here's a link to a tutorial by Judy Headrick.  Isn't this a cool technique?  It's tedious, but the end result is fabulous!

I used 8 punch-outs from the 2-1/2" Circle Punch and I pretty much followed the tutorial.  I punched out one more circle from Very Vanilla cardstock and I adhered each of the 8 pieces to the circle as I assembled the paper medallion.  This also made it easier to attach the brad in the center.

Today's card is for The Paper Players Colour Challenge - using the colors of Poppy Parade, So Saffron, and Baja Breeze.  What a great color combination!
