Hi, my name is Julie, and I am a Designer Series Paper Hoarder ;). Wondering what to do with all of your retired DSP??? Well, look no further! My inspiration comes from this photo from Convention 2011:
I searched and searched and searched for tutorials on how to make this and finally found one. I recreated it with Springtime Vintage DSP and I can't wait to hang this beauty in my stamp room!
So... do you want to learn how to make one for yourself??? Here's my video tutorial! Please forgive the cutoff at the end - I need a larger memory card for my camera - oops! Wow! I am impressed! I've got to get some of my retired dsp out and make some of those! This project could backfire and I might end up having to purchase even more dsp. If that's the case, I'll be sure to blame you, LOL!

Lovely!! I now have 30 folded papers, but am struggling to get them together... Any tips? :)

My suggestion is to start by putting 5 pieces together to make a star. Then add one piece at a time after that.
The next piece you add after the 5 pieces of the star will connect 3 pieces together. It's the trickiest piece to assemble (besides the last piece) because you have to insert the points at what seems like an awkward angle.
Just keep in mind you will only have intersections of 5 or 3 pieces throughout the entire ball. The intersections of 5 pieces will be slightly inwards in the center of the stars and the intersections of 3 pieces will be outwards.
