Notably Ornate Birthday

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Today's card is a (belated) birthday card for a dear friend of mine.  I picked the color combo from the Color Coach - Soft Suede, Rose Red, and So Saffron.  I also inked up my Notably Ornate stamp set for the first time!

For the sentiment, I used a Stampin' Write marker to just ink up the oval part of the design so I could add any sentiment I wanted!  The "Birthday Wishes" from the Watercolor Trio set fits perfectly in the oval and goes with the vintage feel.  What do you think?

Stamp Sets Notably Ornate, Watercolor Trio (retired)
Ink Soft Suede
Paper Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, So Saffron
Accessories Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Paper Snips, Stamping Sponges, 2" x 1-3/8" Oval Punch, Rose Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Antique Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

Baby Steps

Today's card is a congratulations card for a friend of mine who just had a baby girl.  Welcome to the world, Clare!

The color combination came from the Color Coach (again - I love this thing!) - Perfect Plum, Sahara Sand, and Blushing Bride.  The Baby Steps stamp set is just so sweet - the heart at the end of the mama elephant's trunk is precious.  And how perfectly do those pearls fit inside the buttons!?

I thought I was finished with the card, but when I looked at it for awhile, it needed a little something more, so I added the heart confetti to the bottom.  I just used a scrap piece of paper to prevent stamping on the Sahara Sand piece (since the card was already put together when I decided to add the confetti).

I have the "can't waities" for my Dad to get here tomorrow for Thanksgiving - it will be wonderful to have him here with us for the holiday.  Thanks for stopping by!

Congratulations Masculine

Today's card is a congratulations card for my dear friend's husband who just passed the Bar!  Congratulations, Chris!

I tried my hand at stamping with clear blocks and love how this card turned out - clean, contemporary, and masculine!  And it was quick and easy to make - add a few brads and some pierces of the paper and it's finished.  What do you think?

Thanksgiving Wishes

Today's card is my Thanksgiving card for this year.  I am so excited, because we're hosting Thanksgiving at our new house.  My Dad is driving down from Cleveland and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law will be with us too!  I'm hoping to channel my inner Martha Stewart and turn out a delicious feast - cross your fingers!!

I just cannot get enough of the Day of Gratitude stamp set - it is just beautiful!  And the color combination came from the Color Coach - More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, and Garden Green.  For the Garden Green piece behind the Day of Gratitude medallion, I used the Top Note Die and cut the same piece 4 times - rotating 90 degrees each time.  The points of the medallion fit perfectly with the Garden Green piece.

I also rocked and rolled the medallion - first in More Mustard and then in Elegant Eggplant.  TIP: Always ink your stamp with the lightest color first to protect your ink pads before using the rock and roll technique.  What do you think??

Stamp Sets Day of Gratitude, Seasonal Sentiments
Ink More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, VersaMark
Paper Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Garden Green
Accessories Top Note Die, Crumb Cake 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (retired), Glimmer Brads (Basics), Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Stampin' Dimensionals, Boho Blossoms Punch

I'm Baaaaack!

Thank you to my loyal blog followers for sticking with me during our move from Chicago to Atlanta!  We're all moved in and I've gotten my stampin' space set up enough to start creating again!  I hope all of you are well and ready to enjoy the weekend :).

Today I'm sharing with you the birthday card I made for my husband, Bryan.  I think it looks masculine, but you tell me!  Also, what do you think of the photo???  I bought myself a new light box for taking photos of my creations!  I love how the photo shows all of the details of the card - much better than the photos I've been taking :).  Until next time...
